DROP-OFF and PICK-UP

Due to the large number of students we have attending Spangler, parking and student pick-up and drop-off can be a challenge. Everyone must follow the rules and procedures established to help ensure that things run as smoothly and safely as possible. Please drop off and pick up your children in the designated areas. For the first days of school, additional staff will be out to support students and show them where to go. First grade parents can walk their child to their line the first 2 days of school.

Walking: Do not block the gates in drop-off and pick-up zones. Wait for your child outside the GATE. Staff will be helping the younger students during drop-off and pick-up. Please use crosswalks and follow the city crossing guard's directions when walking.

Parking: The parking spots designated for staff are for school staff only. For parents wishing to park their cars, you can park on the street or in visitor parking. Do not call out to your children from your car to come to you. We ask that you please meet them at the gate and cross any streets at crosswalks if needed.
TK Parking lot will be closed off. You can park on Abbott where it indicates “Passenger Loading Zone.” You will walk your child to the TK playground.

Valet Drop-Off/Pick-Up: If you are going to drop your child off or pick them up, please use the valet area.  Turn into the driveway and pull up.  There will be staff and student safety team members to help get your child in or out of your car. Do not let your children enter or exit the car until you get to the area. If your child is not at the valet area at pick-up time, please exit the parking lot and reenter the valet line. Finally, please make sure to follow all traffic laws (i.e., no double parking, making U-turns in the middle of a road, and be careful of pedestrians crossing the street).

We need to make sure that we do everything we can to ensure that our students are as safe as possible. Please be Safe, Kind, and Respectful when dropping off and picking up your student(s).

In the morning, students should arrive any time between 8:15 and 8:30. Students go directly to the blacktop and start the morning walk on the blacktop. When the bell rings, students walk to their class line. Students should not be on campus before 8:15 unless they are having breakfast. Breakfast starts at 8:00 in the Multi-Use Room.

UNIFORMS

Spangler is a uniform school. Students are expected to be in their uniforms daily unless there is a free dress day. Please view our uniform policy on our school website.
