Principal's Message

Hello Families,

We have completed our first full week of school, and it has been wonderful to see our students settling into routines and beginning to build strong relationships with their teachers and classmates. Thank you for helping make the start of the school year a success!

As we enter next week, our focus continues to be on creating a welcoming and safe learning environment. Our teachers continue to teach Spartan behavior expectations using PBIS lessons. We have also started beginning-of-year assessments, such as i-Ready.

Families play an important role in helping students have a successful school year. Please continue to support your child by establishing consistent morning and bedtime routines, asking about their day, encouraging them to read, and reminding them of Golden Spartan Expectations.

Reminders:
Follow drop-off and pick-up procedures. Kindergarten parents don't work in the valet pick-up area.
Please don't park in the bus zone on Rudyard.

Highlight of the Week

We, as staff, also get to know each other better. Here is a snapshot of a staff activity. When teachers build strong relationships with one another, they create a supportive and collaborative school community where they can share ideas, learn from each other, and work together to ensure every student feels supported.
 

Upcoming Events

Wednesday, August 26th - Back-to-School Night, 6:00-7:00 for 1st - 6th grades
Tuesday, September 3rd - PTA Meeting via Google Meet
Monday, September 7th - No School: Labor Day.

Important Reminders

Parents, please sign in to your Aeries to complete data confirmation.

All 4th- 6th grade parents remind students to fill out the application for any extracurricular activities students are interested in. Different clubs have different deadlines. If you have any questions, please go to https://spangler.musd.org/51591_2

Early drop-off and pick-up procedures will be implemented starting next week, 8/24:
  • Students who are dropped off before 8:00 am must be accompanied by an adult and signed in at the front office. If there is no one in the office, the adult must wait with their student until there is.
  • Students who are picked up late after 3:00 pm must be signed out in the office by the adult picking them up. Students will not be allowed to walk out to the car anymore.

Our Book of the Month

If you are a cleared volunteer, reach out to the PTA or Ms. Allison to volunteer on picture day on September 9th.
