Principal's Message

Hello Families,

Happy Friday! We had a wonderful week of learning. Students and staff have settled into their routines.

Students are collaborating with their classmates in the classroom and playing outside on the playground. These interactions develop students' social skills. The most important being how they can express themselves and are able to understand others' perspectives. Our core value, Empathy, is a skill students develop through everyday experiences, conversations, and modeling from the adults around them.
When conflicts happen, encourage children to think about both sides: “What were you feeling? What do you think the other person was feeling?”

If we work together to teach students kindness, I know the Spangler community will continue to thrive.

Take Care,
Parwinder

Highlight of the Week

This week's highlight was getting to see parents at our Back-to-School Night. Thank you to all the families of 1st–6th grade students who joined us in person on Wed, Aug 26, 2026. It was a pleasure to reconnect with so many families after the long summer months.

The Spartan Standard: Attendance Update

Setting the standard high from day one: our school-wide attendance rate for this past week reached 97.0%, officially exceeding our annual goal of 96.0%.

Weekly Breakdown:
  • Current School Attendance Rate: 97.0%
  • Annual Target: 96.0%

This strong opening reflects the dedication of our students, families, and staff. Maintaining momentum at the start of the academic year builds the routine and discipline needed for sustained academic growth.

Keeping the Momentum Strong:
  • Maintain the Routine: Consistent sleep schedules and morning routines help ensure students arrive on time and ready every day.
  • Plan Ahead: Whenever possible, please align non-urgent medical appointments and family travel with scheduled school breaks.
  • Stay Connected: If your student must be absent due to illness, notify the attendance office by phone at (408) 635-2870 x1008 or by ParentSquare message to Ms. Allison to keep records up to date.

Thank you for demonstrating true Spartan commitment. Let's work together to protect this high standard throughout the weeks ahead.

Full School Uniform Policy Effective Next Week: Our temporary two-week uniform waiver period officially concludes at the end of this week. For detailed guidelines or assistance with obtaining uniforms, please contact our front office or reach out to Assistant Principal Julianna Ortega.

Core Value of the Month- Empathy

When children see adults showing kindness, listening to others, respecting differences, and helping people who are struggling, they learn that caring for others is an important part of who they are. Small conversations and everyday acts of kindness can make a big difference in helping children become compassionate and caring members of their community.

Ways to Give!

There are so many ways parents can support Spangler. One way is to donate supplies on the Amazon Wish List.

If you are a cleared volunteer, reach out to the PTA or Ms. Allison to volunteer on picture day on September 9th.
