Principal's Message

Hello Spangler Families,

September is a beautiful reminder that growth takes time. As we move through September, I encourage our families to take a few moments each day to ask your child not only, “What did you learn today?” but also, “What made you smile?”, “What was challenging?”, or “Who did you help today?” These simple conversations help our children recognize that school is about more than academics—it is also about becoming kind, confident, and resilient.

Highlight of the Week


The Spartan Standard: Weekly Attendance Report

Our commitment to consistency continues to deliver results! Our average daily attendance currently stands at 96.50%, keeping us right above our school-wide goal of 96.0%.

Attendance by the Numbers:
  • Year-to-Date Average: 96.57%
  • School Goal: 96.0%
  • Daily Average Absences: ~19 students per day

While staying above our target is a great achievement, an average of 19 students missing instruction each day means lost learning time. Let’s work together as a Spartan community to bring that daily absence number down!

Planning an Absence? Independent Study Available If you know your student will be absent for an extended period, please take advantage of our Independent Study program so they don't fall behind academically. You can review the guidelines and request an Independent Study contract by visiting the Spangler Elementary Independent Study Page.

Important Reminders

Lunch Drop Off 
To minimize classroom disruptions and ensure smooth daily operations, we ask that students bring their lunch with them to school every morning or plan to receive a meal provided by the school cafeteria.

Please note that parents/guardians should no longer drop off student lunches at the front office. Once school starts at 8:30 AM, drop-off lunches will no longer be accepted. Any lunch brought to the front office after 8:30 AM will be turned away, and the student will need to obtain lunch from the school cafeteria.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our front office running efficiently and helping us maintain uninterrupted learning time for our students!

Safety Patrol

This week our student Safety Patrol began assisting with morning and afternoon car valet in our front parking lot and MUR parking lot. Please be courteous to our student leaders as they are volunteering their time to provide this service to all Spangler students. We ask that you remain vigilant when driving to ensure all students are safe! 

Parking Around Campus

We ask that you please remember to park in designated parking spot. Check out our drop off and pick up procedures on our Spangler Website for specific information regarding where to park. 

Please note that the bus loading zone on Rudyard is not a parking area. Parking there delays the bus schedule for other sites. 

Update Front Parking Lot

We have painted these markers as a red no-parking zone. Please don't park in this area.
