VOLUNTEERING

If you are interested in volunteering here at Spangler, here are the steps you need to take:

  • Fill out a volunteer form. They can be downloaded or picked up from the front office.
  • Attached with the form, you will need:
    • A copy of your ID or driver’s license.
    • A recent negative TB test.
  • If you are interested in volunteering for field trips, you will need to also get your fingerprints scanned. You will need to pick up a livescan form from the front office. Please take it with you when you get your fingerprints done.
  • Once you have everything needed, please turn in the paperwork into the front office. We will need to send it over to our HR department in order for it to be cleared. This process takes 1-2 weeks.
  • You will receive an email letting you know once you are officially cleared.

FIELD TRIPS

Fun and Educational Field Trips title

Field trips can enhance classroom learning through real life contact with the topic of study. Prior approval is required for students to participate in school sponsored trips.

If privately-owned vehicles are to be used for transporting students, parents of the students are to be notified and the owner of the vehicle and the parents must acknowledge in writing that they have received notice that the board’s liability insurance does not cover the use of the private vehicles to transport students for school activities.

MEDICATION AT SCHOOL

Medication

If your student has a medical condition, such as asthma or severe food allergies, and requires medication to be kept at school, an authorization to administer medication form is required. The form is to be filled out by the doctor prior to bringing in your student’s medication.

  • DO NOT BLOCK gates or drive through

  • The North Parking lot, near portables 8-11, is NOT a drop off zone. 

  • Only let your students out of the car in a safe drop off spot. 

  • DO NOT let your students out of the car in the middle of the parking lot or street.
